Saved by the CROSS and in the name of Jesus - Lewis Charles

I was one of the member of that committee how is serving people and painting cross on doors, neck and foreheads.

An interview with Mr. Lewis Charles – living at House 327/6, Lane # 4, Radio Pakistan, Peshawar Road, Rawalpindi during our research work on Violence, Memories and Peace – Building funded by the Olaf Palme Centre, SIDA on the issue of History of Partition 1947 and Role of Christian Community. He narrative that on August 14th at the stroke of midnight, India and Pakistan became two separate independent nations. Women were abducted, raped and burned alive and men were massacred in the most brutal way.

It is an historical fact that Cross saved many innocent lives. By making the Cross in red or white paint on their doors and houses, many non Christians were able to avoid certain death. Some of them even made a sign of the cross on their foreheads or wore crosses on their necks and thus saved themselves and their families. (Interview by Leonard Dsouza and Nosheen Dsouza)
